Magnesium sulfate is an inorganic salt containing magnesium, sulfur and oxygen, with the chemical formula MgSO4, exists in the form of a white crystal that is easily soluble in water.

The name Epsom salt comes from the name of a bitter well in England after two Dutch diplomats first discovered it in 1629. In industry:

Magnesium sulfate (MgSO4) is used as a raw material for the production of animal feed or micronutrients. It can also be used to produce printing inks, dyes, and even disinfectants, among other things.
