Chemically speaking, baking soda is sodium bicarbonate. It is mainly known in the kitchen and is used for baking, but thanks to its properties it is used in cosmetics and skin care, as a product for the production of household, ecological cleaning products or in medicine as a pH normalizing substance
Baking soda in the body In its natural environment, it is found in mineral deposits, freshwater sediments and groundwater. For industrial needs, it is extracted from a mine ore containing a mixture of trisodium bicarbonate and sodium carbonate. It undergoes treatment and subsequent processes that ultimately result in baking soda i.e. sodium bicarbonate. Baking soda, as few know, occurs naturally in our bodies in the saliva and stomach and naturally neutralizes the pH levels in the mouth or stomach.
