Carob molasses is one of the healthiest alternatives to refined sugar. Derived from the pods of the carob tree , also known as carob or carob, molasses is a thick, brown syrup with an intensely sweet chocolate flavor. Sometimes referred to as "black gold", carob molasses is a valuable source of potassium, which regulates blood pressure, kidney function, and water and electrolyte balance, as well as essential B vitamins for the body's proper functioning , soothing tannins and pectins that reduce risk reduce weight gain. Molasses is recommended as an ingredient in desserts, as a sweet topping for ice cream and pancakes, or as an addition to tea, coffee, or cocoa.
