It has a diastolic effect and reduces the tension of the smooth muscles of the bile ducts, intestines and urinary tract, prevents stagnation of bile in the gallbladder, allows the proper movement of intestinal contents and the release of gases, and has a digestive and analgesic effect. It has a powerful antibacterial effect in the bile ducts and intestines, destroys antibiotic-resistant bacteria and has a slightly sedative and diaphoretic effect.

Its infusions are mainly used in various diseases of the digestive tract, in gastroenteritis, in acidosis, in digestive disorders manifested by anorexia, vomiting, nausea, flatulence, abdominal pain, bad digestive fats and abnormal fermentation in the intestine, intestinal colic, intestinal cramps, diarrhea, constipation and weakened pancreatic function.
